AIR HAMBURG – when performance matters.
In recent weeks, the challenge posed by the COVID-19 crisis has evolved at great speed. In no industry is this more acutely felt than within the international aviation community. We have witnessed demand for travel drop by unprecedented amounts, and most countries now enforce strict restrictions on the entry of passengers.
AIR HAMBURG’s response to the crisis, too, remains ever-evolving. We continue to adapt and assess our procedures in order to provide our clients, passengers and crews with industry-leading safety and protection.
At the start of the pandemic, we created an internal Crisis Response Team from our most capable and experienced colleagues. With deep expertise in the fields of Ground Operations, Flight Operations, Crew Resource Management, Continuing Airworthiness and many more, this team forms the core of a company-wide Coronavirus management system.
Multiple daily updates are shared with all of the AIR HAMBURG Group’s 500 employees. These updates cover vital fields such as operational restrictions, leading aviation hygiene advice from the Robert Koch Institute and internal recommendations and safety measures. This continuous flow of information assures that staff are kept both informed and protected, ensuring operational stability and durability.
This has ensured that AIR HAMBURG has continued consistent operations throughout the duration of the crisis so far, and is now Europe’s largest business aviation airline by flight sectors. Working with our broker partners throughout the world, AIR HAMBURG helped to safely operate 1,300 flights in March alone. We continue to work with our colleagues and continue to bring people back home, and carry vital supplies across the globe on a daily basis.
This is certainly the greatest challenge that AIR HAMBURG has faced in our 15 years of operation. However, we remain calm and confident, and will continue to operate safely, consistently and punctually to ensure that our passengers and cargo arrives securely at their destinations. We will continue to do this and remain positive that the situation will recover in due course and that AIR HAMBURG will form a leading role in business aviation’s future growth.
Air Hamburg’s COVID19 safety commitments
As the intensity of the situation in Europe and Globally intensifies, we at AIR HAMBURG wanted to reach out and clarify our plans and measures to keep our passengers safe.
We wanted to reassure our clients that the following action is being taken by our crews to mitigate the low risk that this outbreak poses to travelling.
- Aircraft cabin, galleys and flight deck are thoroughly wiped down pre and post flight with SINGOLI anti-bacterial disinfection wipes.
- Aircraft schedules are being optimised to reduce ground times in high-risk regions within Europe for crew and passenger safety.
- Our crews have been briefed to
- Reduce or remove physical contact with passengers
- All catering service is being undertaken with hygiene-gloves
- Use personal disinfection sanitiser after airport interactions
- Maintain WHO-recommended health best practices and respiratory discipline
- Hand out Public Health Passenger Locator Forms whenever required by the authorities
- Contingency plans have been put in place in case passengers become unwell while onboard.
- To maintain operational fidelity, ground crews in Hamburg and Baden-Baden are following all hygiene best practices and are being monitored.
It should be highlighted that much of this has always been a standard for AIR HAMBURG.
We have always valued aircraft cleanliness and crew health and respect as a highest priority.
We are confident through this culture of common sense, respect and good hygiene that AIR HAMBURG is in the best possible position to maintain safe, reliable operations throughout the coming months.
As always, we remain standing by for any further questions you have.
